LATEST MARKET UPDATE: Following a spate of panic-buying yesterday (12th January), gas and power prices have opened down in early trading this morning. Spot prices remain historically high today, but indications are that European traders’ anxieties following a spike in demand in the Asian markets may have been excessive.

Utility Team and Clearworld are delighted to announce a new, long term, strategic partnership as part of their unwavering commitment to making net zero happen. The ground-breaking collaboration will not only help customers become more energy efficient and in doing so reduce their energy costs it will also help customers take big strides towards achieving net zero.

Utility Team, one of the Country’s leading and award-winning energy consultants, has implemented a number of carbon reduction strategies for organisations such as DPD and Thales over the last 12 months. These strategies have delivered significant commercial and environmental benefits. The Coventry based organisation has been strengthening its portfolio of services over the last 18 months and with the addition of the Clearworld partnership now has a market leading carbon reduction and net zero offering.

Clearworld, a sustainability and energy reduction specialist, have been helping multi-site organisations such as Morrison’s and Moto realise both the environmental and commercial benefits of implementing energy reduction solutions. By adding the energy strategy, procurement and low carbon investment expertise of Utility Team they can deliver an end-to-end solution to their customers.

With the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson announcing a new ten-point plan to tackle climate change last week, this partnership could not have come at a better time for organisations looking to achieve their net zero goals. Utility Team and Clearworld have already been able to demonstrate the benefit of their partnership to Blackpool Football Club. An initial energy audit has identified £113,000 of annual savings and an annual reduction in carbon output of 276 tonnes. This is on top of the impressive cost saving of c.£150,000 that Utility Team delivered earlier this year as part of their partnership with the club.

Delvin Lane, CEO of Utility Team said “We are delighted to be working with Clearworld and their team of sustainability and energy reduction practitioners. We are fully committed to helping our customers become net zero and know the expertise Clearworld have will help us accelerate our plans.

Creating a net zero world is not a responsibility to be passed on, we need to act now. Our customers are looking to us for guidance and this partnership significantly enhances our ability to deliver net zero solutions that have an impact and create commercial benefits.”

Gary Scaife, Director of Clearworld said “We are looking forward to a joint approach to making net zero happen. A partnership between Utility Team and Clearworld will enable us to offer our clients the benefits of years of experience and realise the environmental and financial benefits of energy reduction”.

The partnership will also enable us to work with clients on strategic plans as we move towards both government and client targets of becoming net zero.”
