To coincide with National Apprenticeship Week starting today, Utility Team is shining the spotlight on our trio of apprentices.
Ethan Stansfield, Bailey Howe and Kane Mahoney are doing an apprenticeship in business administration at our Coventry headquarters.
As a company, we recognise the value of apprenticeships and are pleased to be supporting Ethan, Bailey and Kane on their first step on the career ladder.
Ethan, aged 18, has recently completed his first six months with us and is enjoying the variety of work and new skills he is learning.
He said: “When I completed my A Levels at school last year, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do but I knew that I didn’t want to go to university.
“An apprenticeship seemed like a good choice as it gave me the opportunity to learn whilst working.
“I started here at Utility Team in September and the work is suited to my strengths. I always enjoyed maths at school and that is proving to be quite useful for instance, when looking at prices from suppliers.
“I have been surprised by what you can learn from an apprenticeship and would definitely recommend it.
“Everyone at Utility Team has been really supportive and I feel quite lucky to be here.”
Nadine Saxon, office manager at Utility Team, said all three apprentices had settled well into the company.
She said: “Ethan, Bailey and Kane are very much part of our team and it is great to see them developing into their roles.
“On-going training and investment in staff is a priority for Utility Team and so we are delighted to be supporting them at the start of their careers.”
